Demystifying the Superfoods.

Updated: Oct 4, 2022

What to eat for healthy and flawless skin.

Not so long ago I read an article about tropical superfood and their beneficial effects on the skin. I don't know who this article was intended for, probably those who live in the tropics.

We all know how food affects our health, and if so, it also affects our appearance, and it is not just about skin. But what is superfood? It must be natural, unprocessed, full of nutrients and low in calories. It must have a lot of polyphenols that destroy oxidative stress. Additionally, and here becomes a problem, they must be eaten straight from the tree, matured under the sun and not subjected to heat treatment.

We often think that something exotic, brought from distant countries will give us what we lack. But if they are brought from far away, they must be processed. Goji berry powder no longer has as many properties as goji berry fruits straight from the tree. Cocoa is also powerful if straight from the trees, but who has such an opportunities?

Nuts or cocoa in chocolate, mixed with fats, roasted and melted won't do us any good. This way food has been perverted and is no longer a life-giving essence for the body. What’s the solution?

Eat seasonally and locally. Appreciate the humble carrot, gooseberries or an apple that grew in your latitude. When eaten raw and whole they have more power than a powdered or packed in a plastic bag. Eat what nature gives us, she is always right.

Be healthy and glow.
