We've got the beginning of October and we're still battling the heat, at least here in Southern California. Not all of us remember about the sun blocker and later we have to deal with the discomfort of tight, itchy, and dry skin. It was the same with me after the last trip to the beach. Here's a homemade recipe for a quick soothing mask, one of those my grandmother taught me. All you need are 4 ingredients which I'm sure you'll find them in your kitchen.
1/2 cup of warm chamomile tea (I use loose flowers, I don't like those teas in sachets)
1/3 cup of oatmeal (I like to grind it first for its fine texture)
Mix them together and set aside for 3 minutes.
Add 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt
and 2 tablespoons of honey.
Stir making sure the texture is not too watery so it doesn't run down your face.
Apply on face and leave it for 10-5 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
Whew, what a relief :)
